Hello everyone, this week assignment is a unique assignment. To choose an assignment that I have struggled with is a struggle in itself. Math is a struggle for many of us in this class, but for me, I find math is easier than other topics. I have always enjoyed solving math problems since I was young and the difficult the math level gets, the more I challenge myself to understand it better. This week assignment was a challenge for me, because I had to choose an assignment that I struggle with, so far, I do not have any struggle with the previous assignment we had in this class, but for the sake of the assignment. My session with the tutor was very brief. My discussion with the tutor revolved around dividing terms containing exponential expressions. I remember when I started that lesson earlier in the class, I was a bit confused about why when dividing exponential expression and the product of the division is a negative exponent, it has to be flipped and converted into a positive exponent. My tutor explained to me the reason why, and it turned out it is a mathematical rule like when multiplying (-) * (-) = (+). The tutor was very helpful and took his time to explain it in simple terms. I have attached a copy of the session. Hope it will be helpful to all of you as well it was for me

2 days agoRe: Week 5 | Discussion – Status CheckHappy week #5 to all of you.  Last week I had a hard time with graphing inequalities.  I did not seem to quite get the overlapping completely mastered.  I logged into my tutor.com account, and was immediately prompted to identify the type of help that I needed.  I chose our course on the drop down tab, I typed in the inequality that I wanted to graph with the tutor.  I worked on this with John on TUTOR.COM.  He was very helpful and took me step-by-step, and he did not make me feel stupid.  I was able to post one of the questions that I struggled with during our homework last week.  I do find that sometimes having someone walk you through and pointing out the intricacies of that problem can help enormously.  I also really liked using the online graphing calculator.  All of these tools help me because I am a visual learner.  I do plan on using this service again in the future. Hoping everyone has a great 5th week!

2 days agoRe: Week 5 | Discussion – Status CheckHey Guys! The biggest struggle I was having was with this material so far in the course was with equations of linear functions. I explained to the tutor that I was having specific trouble with understanding how to set the problem up, and where the numbers go. I used some example from within the course, and then she used some of her own for examples. We went step by step, and the tutor was super patient and took her time to really explain in detail how to do the problem, and tips to remembering how to remember how to do it. I also asked her questions about radical equations, especially the problems where you have to use pie in the equation, and she refreshed me on how to work throw those problems as well. Overall, I would totally use the tutor.com resource for extra help, especially in math. I did not expect the tutors to be so patient and nice. I honestly expected them to be short, and not very detailed. Which why I hesitated before to use this resource.

CAUTION: It is critical that you read all of the instructions below (word for word); the week five lessons; and the MLA Review and Sample Essay 2 (under Resources) before submitting this essay. If you do not follow ALL of the instructions, your essay will be returned to you for revisions or awarded a grade of zero. You don’t have to be perfect, but do read carefully and try your best.

This week, you will write your third essay. Use the three-part thesis and five-paragraph essay format you learned during week two. Write in third person only. (See the Grammar Review under Resources for help with third person.)

Under Week 5 Lessons, we learned about different types of essays. For your final essay, you may choose from any of these types of essays. Also, to make things easier on you, you may also write about one of the topics you researched in the MLA/Library Practice forums (weeks four and six).

Here is a thesis example for a “descriptive” essay, in which I will describe a decade: The 1960s was a greatly controversial decade due to its fashion, political unrest, and social norms.

You must incorporate research exclusively from the APUS library into your essay. Use two or three sources—no more, no less. Remember that your essay should be mostly your own writing (~80%) and approximately 20% source material. This is short essay, so use short quotes only. I suggest only a line or two of quoted material in each of your body paragraphs. Don’t forget your Works Cited page. Include the APUS library URL (https) after each Works Cited entry so that I can click on it and double-check your article. You can just copy and paste it from your web browser. Extensive MLA help is provided under week four (Lessons and Resources).

Please do not let anyone else write or revise your writing. My job is to help you improve YOUR writing. I can only do that if you let me see your mistakes. I am not interested in how well someone else writes. I want to help YOU!

(Hint: if you are struggling, there are tutoring opportunities listed on our Syllabus. This is an appropriate route for acquiring help with your writing. You may contact me for help anytime too!)

Download the template and save it as your last name and Essay 3. (Example: Smith_Essay3). The MLA formatting is done for you (e.g., Times New Roman size 12, double-spaced, header, etc.). Update your name, your professor’s name, and date. Don’t forget to put your last name in the header. (Let me know if you don’t know how to get into the header section or type a question into your Word help section.)

Your essay should be between 500 and 750 words. Please do not go under the word count at all. Do not go over the word count by more than 50 words. Following instructions is an important part of any writing assignment, and often you will be asked to adhere to word count guidelines, so this is good practice!

Be sure that all paragraphs are well developed. I suggest 5-8 sentences per paragraph and no less than 100 words per paragraph, including your introduction and conclusion.

(Points saver: as you proof your essay in Word, hit the control [ctrl] key and the “F” key at the same time. This will bring up the search feature. Type in what you wish to find, such as the word you, to be sure you have avoided second person. This works in finding contractions too. Type in an apostrophe and hit enter!)

When you “submit” your paper, it will be uploaded into Turnitin (a plagiarism-detection website) automatically. You do not have to create a Turnitin account yourself. Both you and your instructor will receive the results. (The Turnitin report will be under Assignments and will have a percentage on it, like 22%. Click on the percentage to view your report. Certain parts of your essay will be highlighted. This shows where you have used information from a library source or material that appears in another student’s essay.)

A “Sample Essay 2” is under Resources. Take a look before you begin!

GOOD LUCK!

The grading rubric used to score this essay is attached. Your instructor will use the iRubric to evaluate this essay. Please read the rubric categories and your instructor’s comments carefully.

Week 8 | Discussion – Living the Story

Listening to the Charles Ives: Psalm 90 causes me to reflect upon Psalm 90:17”, establish thou the work of our hand? While listening to the song and reading the scripture, it makes me feel like no mater what, God is always watching. I even referenced Genesis 28:15, “I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you. While God is always watching, he also put us on this earth to do his work. Adam and Eve were created as Gods partners to bring more goodness to the world.

What does this mean for you individually, and for the wider Christian church? I refer to verse 16, “16 Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children.” One of the most important covenants God made was with the Israelites, Abraham’s descendants through his son Isaac and grandson. The covenant between God and Israel is love. God loved Israel.” Even if God’s promises may not immediately fulfilled, he does keep his promises.

Post by Kristie Godin

I found listening to the music from Charles Ives while reading Psalm 90  gave me a chance to really reflect on what God wants from us and how He wants us to live out His word. Looking back on the course and what we learned I believe God wants us to live out His word. The way others see us and see how we live is a reflection on our faith and our God. God was faithful to the Israelites even in their sin. He was forgiving and loving. I believe for me personally God wants me to be a reflection of Him where I live and work. He wants people to  know what it is like to be a Christian. I think it os a the same for the church as a whole. We need to trust in Him. He will provide and take care of us. We need to keep a strong faith and His work should be shown through the way we live as Christians. I have gained a new understanding of the old testament in this course and I hope I am a better person for the insights gained from the readings and discussions.

Living the Story

How does listening to “Charles Ives: Psalm 90” cause you to reflect upon Psalm 90:17, “establish thou the work of our hands”?  This is Moses prayer explaining how important God’s hands are I think.  In church I was shown that using our hands to praise God is a way for to use help other people.  Thinking back on the course, on Exodus and Deuteronomy, and on Moses’ prayer in Psalm 90, what does it mean for God to establish the work of our hands?  God uses our hands so that we may do as he wishes and Moses did.  God uses us to learn and do many things I feel that all things happen for a reason and God is making such things happen. What does this mean for you individually, and for the wider Christian church?  This means is the God uses the Christian Church for us to praise him and do his good will.

                                                         CLASSMATE’S DISCUSSION

The discussion board that will always stick with me was regarding “considering Theory X and Theory Y to leadership and best described me and an example of a person whom I think describes one of the theories.” I chose Theory Y because I am a ambitious and I give 150% when I do my job.  When I played basketball, I studied the plays and implemented the information and took directions very well. Now my telecommunications business is the same way.  All aspects of this company have to be on point and no room for errors.  This is a telecommunications business and if people or businesses do not have a signal that means I am not doing an effective job.  I go beyond the call of duty and I guide myself.  At some point all businesses need to be upgraded or improvements.  But my example that I always think about is Irvin “Magic” Johnson.  He had a purpose after retiring from the league.  He had a vision and a purpose to be a boss and he did it.  Mr. Johnson has several movie theaters across the US, Starbucks, and Burger Kings.  He is definitely Theory Y, he did not allow others or circumstances deter him from achieving his goals.  I feel the same way and I plan on expanding my business in two other states within the next two years.

Human Resources Management

Recent genetics research on leadership by Dr. Richard Avey suggests about 30% of leadership is born (genetic), 30% is made in the formative years (young in life), and about 30% of leadership is “made” throughout one’s life. A quote by Warren Bennis informs this discussion when he said: “more leaders have been made by accident, circumstance, sheer grit, or will than have been made by all the leadership courses put together.” Do you agree or disagree with this statement, and why? If you agree, how would you design a leadership course differently?

Please include the name of the person or question to which you are replying in the subject line. For example, “Tom’s response to Susan’s comment.”

ALSO PLEASE REPLY TO ANOTHER STUDENTS COMMENT BELOW

SHAYNA:

I agree that most leaders are born with the traits that make them good leaders.  Someones personality is a huge determinate for whether or not they are a leader.  People who are generally more assertive, extroverted, take-charge, or bossy will naturally gravitate toward leadership positions.  These traits are things people are born with and develop as they get older.  However, I do think that a person with the drive to become a leader can do so even if their personality traits are not those of a natural leader.  Just like a skill such as public speaking, a person can overcome their fears and improve their skills in the area of leadership if they desire to do so.  While it may not be a natural ability, leadership is certainly a skill that can be sharpened.

Any good leadership program can be designed for those with or without natural leadership abilities.  I think it would be important to design a beginning that could be easily understood by anyone, and would give the basic building blocks and confidence it takes to be a good leader.  A course that approaches leadership skills based on personality would be helpful also.  Someone who is more introverted could learn through the course how to use the strengths that come from being introverted (i.e. good listening skills, empathetic, observant, etc.) to their advantage.  Someone who is more extroverted could learn through the course how to use the strengths that come from being extroverted (i.e. assertiveness, quick decision-making skills, communication skills, etc.) to their advantage.

Deliverable 1 – Professional Ethics and Liability Protections

Competency

Evaluate public health policies and practices as they relate to legal and ethical implications for individuals and populations.

Instructions

You have recently been promoted to Health Services Manager at Three Mountains Regional Hospital, a small hospital located in a mid-size city in the Midwest. Three Mountains is a general medical and surgical facility with 400 beds. Last year there were approximately 62,000 emergency visits and 15,000 admissions. More than 6,000 outpatient and 10,000 inpatient surgeries were performed.

On your first day in the position, the CEO requested that you design a short in-service training session for employees on the importance of professional ethics and liability protections.

You will need to develop an information sheet that explains the similarities and differences between laws and ethics, and the impact of unethical practices on healthcare. An information sheet provides brief and clear information on the required subject. Often, bullet points are utilized in an information sheet; however, since employees will be expected to know and understand the material thoroughly, your information sheet should be more detailed and offer supporting evidence, including a reference list.

  1. The information sheet should give your employees enough information to understand the differences and similarities between ethics and laws, the impact of unethical practices on healthcare, and the importance of professional ethics.
  2. Make sure to use audience-specific language and tone in your information sheet. Remember, you are writing this information sheet for your co-workers; however, the CEO and the Board of Directors may attend.
  3. Be creative, and make your information sheet fun, yet still clearly organized.

NOTE – APA formatting for the reference list, and proper grammar, punctuation, and form are required. APA help is available here.

 Question: 1

What are the benefits of having an Incident Response Plan?

One of the approaches to deal with security threats is to have an effective Incident Response Plan. By description, an incident response plan refers to a set of instructions to assist IT staff in detecting, responding to, and recovering the system from network security scenarios (Ruefle et al. 2014). An effective Incident Response Plan is beneficial in that it has elements such as the role and duties of each individual in the incident response team members and strategy for communication. The plan also has a continuity plan, processes for data and network recovery, and necessary physical resources, tools, and technologies to be used in case of an incidence (Jalali et al. 2019).

There are other several benefits of having an Incident Response Plan. The first benefit is that it enables an organization to prepare to face and tackle any security incident that may occur confidently and effectively. In case of security incidents, it is easy with the help of the plan for the organization to operate on an “all hands on deck” basis. This also eliminates issues such as panic and confusion in evaluating the incident’s impact because the team members are of what to do, how to communicate and what it takes to stop the incidence as soon as possible. The second benefit is that the Incident Response Plan helps mitigate the potential damage that may occur after a security incident(Ruefle et al. 2014).  It is because the plan outlines the necessary mechanisms, corrective actions, and recommendations to eliminate potential damage (Jalali et al. 2019). The third benefit is that by having documented steps in corrective actions to be followed by the team responsible for the incident response, an organization can avoid oversight and recover more quickly from the incidents (Jalali et al. 2019).

I want 150 words explanation on above paragraph. you must include at least two citations and 2 references., your sentence must be start from, I like your post, I would like to add some more details on your discussion….

Question: 2

Incident Response Plan

Incident Response Plan is an effective method of securing information and data of a business. It is mainly seen in business industry, health care industries. With the advancement of technology, security has become very important. Data can be stolen from an organization’s database easily.  Proactive measures should be taken to prevent data loss. But sometimes measures are not taken. In addition to that this can make huge trouble for the industry as well as customers (Alsmadi, 2019). So it can make or break the image of the company, trust of customers. So Incident Response Plan plays a major role in this case. For that the companies should have an efficient team of employees who should have the skills of tackling cybersecurity threats and taking proper steps to prevent further attacks in future.

Benefits of Incident Response Plan

Whenever any problem can be found it can be controlled properly so that the work progress is not hampered, which reduces time. This problem should be taken as an experience and it is known that prevention is better than cure.  Security system should be enhanced properly so that this problem does not have to face anymore. Some information can be collected like from where the attack was done and the website should be blocked.  Thus the crucial information of employees and customers can be retrieved easily using the plan. Trust of customers, investors and stakeholders can remain intact. The reputation of the company will be damaged if any information is leaked out about the employees, customers and, investors. By chance any data is needed in legal cases then quick responses can be given by the company. In a problem, a response is needed for the actual solutions and not the reactions. Everyday technology is advancing with each passing day and the same is evolving the ways of a company(Brooks, 2017). Once the Incident Response Plan is made that does not assure that it solves all the problems that might be faced by a company as no security is full proof. The Plan should be moderated every now and then and building even stronger security is requirement for any company. To achieve the same a company needs to maintain a good relation among workforce of a company and they should be well connected. Every employee should be involved not only the IT staffs but employee of other departments as well. In addition to that, the security system should also have a backup plan and the data should be restored in a very secure place because no plan is full proof. The new employees should be hired and all the employee should be given a chance to give their opinion. These are the most talked benefits of Security Induction Plan, which has been able to deal with most of the problems and the same should not be taken lightly as it will never be less significant. The hackers are also well versed with technology and ready to come up with new ideas, inventions to steal information from the servers of a company. So companies should be always ready to combat new challenges that come their way.
