Answer 4 Public Policy Questions in Details (WALKER)

I’m working on a Political Science question and need guidance to help me study.

1. Agenda setting refers to the process by which issues become the targets of public policy. How does this happen? How have public policy scholars explained this process?

2. Discuss the difference between policy making and decision making in policy adoption. How does each of the decision making models such as Incrementalism, Non-Incrementalism, and the Punctuated-Equilibrium help us explain policy adoption?

3. Describe what we mean by policy implementation. There are different approaches that public policy scholars have used to assess policy implementation. Critically analyze and compare the existing approaches to study policy implementation. Analyze why policies often fail during implementation?

4. Theories of the public policy process differ in their expectations about the role of political institutions and political actors throughout the policy process. In some theories institutions are preeminent, in others, they play a less significant role. Drawing on public policy theories, compare and contrast the relative importance placed on institutions versus actors in the process.
